February 3rd - Always have a smile on your face because you never know whose day you are going to change.

hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So....random news of the week............ a bird pooped on me. I was talking to a member during an activity from the other ward and I felt something super warm on my hand........... bird poop!!!!!!!!! It was disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But everyone told me that means it is good luck.... according to who I don´t know.
I had exchanges with Hna. Parker!! I can’t send pics right now for some reason but I will later!!

Oh and I made smores for a family. They thought it was the weirdest thing in the world!!!!!! They just kept laughing at the melted marshmallows. hahah

Well the other ward had a movie in the park!! We were able to bring Hna. Alexa, Jacqueline, Walter and Chuy!! They are all so stinking adorable. I love them so much. We watched the Testaments and during the part when it shows Jesus being baptized, Alexa leaned over and said to me Que Bonito. Basically how beautiful!! I was so stinking happy. and we had a family come too!! They came late ( 2 hours late) but we going over to their house to watch it with them later this week!! :D It was incredible to hear the responses of the people who started watching the movie in the park. The Spirit was so strong even though we were surrounded by so much noise. We handed out like 100 Book of Mormons, Liahonas, Family Proclamations. It was a huge success and helped so many people to feel the love of the Savior :)

Hno. Mario!!!!!!!!!!!! I told him he is a twin of Dad so therefore he is my Guatemalan Dad and that means I am not giving up on him. We call him all the time to remind him to read and pray at like 1030 at night because he said that is right before he goes to bed. We had a super awesome lesson with him and I was able to share the importance of the Book of Mormon and how WE HAVE TO pray about it or else we never can know the truth. He came to church alone too!!!! 40 minutes late but he came. Slowly his heart is changing :) it makes me so happy!

We’ll all is well here in Guate!! I love the Gospel. I know it is true. It is how we can truly have peace in this life and in the life to come. Always have a smile on your face because you never know whose day you are going to change.
I love you allllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

January 27th Share the Gospel with those you love and those you are learning to love

BUENAS TARDES A TODOS.
Aquì estoy super feliz. me encanta ser misionera :)
Well this week was wow!!!!!!!!!!!!
We found the most incredible girl in the world. Her name is Yoselin and she is so ready for the Gospel in her life. We were just going door to door and from the beginning I could tell something was different about her. She gave us her undivided attention. Her dad died about 5 years ago so we shared the Plan of Salvation with her. We decided to put an appt. for the very next day with a member in their house. WOW. We taught her about the Restoration and how the Christ´s Church needs to be the same today as it was in the past with apostles and prophets and the proper authority. At the end, she prayed and it was so beautiful. She started crying and so did her sister and me and my companion. She was talking about she has always gone to so many churches but has never felt this happy. She never knew that she could live with her father once again after this life. I cannot put into words how beautiful this prayer was. Now the bad news... she lives in another area so we taught her with the elders from that area and wow. She read so much of the Book of Mormon already. She said she didn’t understand in the beginning but decided to say a prayer like we told her and she understood after that. She kept saying she has never felt this way before. We got to show her the Sacrament room and i just paused and said how do you feel? Contenta. With a smile on her face. She came to Church on Sunday and is getting baptized on the 8th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhh. With her family. I love her so stinking much.
Then we found 2 other jovencitas bien chulas. They came to my English class too. They are so adorable. They are Catholics and have so many questions. We were able to testify to them that Christ truly did come to the Americas after His resurrection. It was incredible. We were able to talk about before His coming, a lot of storms and darkness covered the Earth but He came and brought a new light. It is just like that in our own lives too. We are in the darkness but Christ brings light and a reason to rejoice in our lives. He can heal us and will heal us if we trust in Him and follow His example.
We did a service project and cut corn crops..... So hot and so many itchy plants but it was so much fun!!!!! I am teaching English too and I love it soooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!
Hno. Mario... the husband of the Relief Society president came to church again. He reminds me a lot of daddy. He loves to tease and gets distracted really easily so I am teaching him in English because he has to pay attention :) He has listened to so many missionaries but I know his heart is starting to be softened!!!!
oH and we are teaching a super amazing family. They have so many questions and I love helping them understand the Book of Mormon better. We just gotta help them get to church this Sunday!!!! :)
I love being a missionary. It is the best!!!!!!!! I am learning so much. Some days are so hard and I just feel so discouraged but then I remembered that he never gave up. I am representing Him and I cannot give up either. Share the Gospel with those you love and those you are learning to love. It will change your life and their eternity.
I love you!!!

January 20th - Christ lives and loves us. ALL of us.

Welll..... I now have 20 years!!!!!!!  I had a Birthday… Weird, Not a teenager anymore. So I started out my Birthday by waking up at 5:20 am. Here it is tradition to go sing Las mañantias to the person celebrating their birthday. Except you do it with fireworks......
Well since Hno. Darvin and I have the same birthday we decided to go wake him up :) It was so much fun and he was so tired... hahah but I loved it. I think it is a tradition that I am going to bring to the states :)
Then my whole zone bought me a cake and sang to me. It was Hna. Moreno´s bday on the 13th so we celebrated together.
Then Hna. Ingrid bought me a cake, Hna. Estelita made me lunch and Hna. Vilma bought me a piñata. Oh and it is also tradition to shove your face in the cake....  I got spoiled!! and we found an awesome family that day!!!! Monica and Vernon. They have questions and they actually listened.  They said they didn’t feel like the miracles Jesus did while He was here on the Earth. I was able to testify to them about the Priesthood and how it is really the power of God. Especially since I have seen and felt the blessings of the Priesthood in my own life personally. :)

We had a General Authority 70’s come!! Elder Soares. Wow. He is so awesome. He really helped me understand that this time is never coming back. I was  Called to Serve in Spanish...... and I felt so strongly that I am where I am supposed to be!!!

We had a fogata!!! aka a bonfire in our ward. We thought maybe 50 people would come... 80!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was incredible and so many new investigators came. Hno. Darvin came too with his brothers..... one of them came to church tooo!!!!!!! So awesome. It was amazing to see the blessings and results of our hard work and dedication.

So Hna. Rosa got sick but we were able to go to her house and share the scripture below with her. We explained that sometimes we have trials to see if with our faith we are willing to overcome them and serve the Lord.

6 And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that afaith is things which arebhoped for and cnot seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no dwitness until after the etrial of your faith.

After we read it, she was like yah ! I am going to church ! It was incredible. Mario came to church too. And this drunk man I invited too just randomly, I didn’t think he would come but he did. It was an interesting experience.
I know the church is true. Christ lives and loves us. ALL of us. It doesn’t matter what we have done, through the Atonement and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we can find true peace and happiness in this life. :)

I love you !!!
Thanks for your support.

Jan. 13th , 2014 Thank You for the Birthday Wishes

I HAD A BABY!!! Which means…. I am training a new Sister missionary and I am still in San Felipe. I have been here 7 months. Almost half of my mission. My zone didnt believe it and neither did the members. My zone leader called the assistants to make sure they knew how long I have been here. hahahah. My baby is from El Salvador and her name is Hna. Nativdad. Yes, like Christmas! She is super sweet and so humble. So willing to learn and improve.
I felt so inadequate to be a trainer, but the Lord truly calls us to what we need. I have felt the Spirit guiding me sooooooooooooo much to the people. I was reading in 2 Nephi 33 and I just found the most perfect scripture.

4 And I know that the Lord God will consecrate my prayers for the gain of my people. And the words which I have written in weakness will be made strong unto them; for it persuadeth them to do good; it maketh known unto them of their fathers; and it speaketh of Jesus, and persuadeth them to believe in him, and to endure to the end, which is life eternal.

Nephi, prophet of God, wrote these words in weakness but they strengthen me daily. I am training Hna. Natividad in what I feel like is my weakness but through the Lord I am strengthening her, myself and the people we are teaching. I seriously am in awe of how much the Lord is guiding me. We don’t need to fear or feel inadequate. We have an Almighty God helping us.

So Hna. Rosa is just so legit. I love her so much. She is just darling. We just went over the baptismal questions and just to hear her testify that the Church is true brought so much peace to my heart and I was gleaming. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to teach her and watch her become closer to the Lord.

I think more than anything this week I have come to truly love my mission. Some days I cannot stop smiling and others I just think what am I doing wrong! I am trying so hard to help these people and they just reject me. It doesn’t matter what type of day it is. The Lord always guides me to what I need to do and how I should do it. I only have 18 months and 7 have already passed. I have to enjoy every minute and I am.

We had an amazing lesson with some members in our ward. The Spirit was so strong. We wrote down the blessings we have and we talked about how the little things add up. Its the same in our lives. The little things we do here add up and help us to live with our Heavenly Father once again.

The mission is changing me for the better. I feel closer to my Savior each day. I love you all so much and want all of you to have this happiness and reassurance too. Invite the missionaries over to have a lesson in your house. You will not regret it. Pay attention to how you feel. I know the Spirit will testify of the truth. The Gospel is true and I cannot deny it and never will.

Have a good week!!!!!
I love you tons.

Jan 6th, 2014 HeLives...and He Loves Us !

So today was an interesting day.....
I went and hiked to a lagoon with my whole zone and ate seviche afterwards ( it is a dish from Ecuador, calidad). and I lost my camera memory card. Yes… all of my photos. I didn’t really get upset which surprised me but that is something I have learned here. Let the little things go. They aren’t that important in the big scheme of things. So whatever it may be in your life... let go of the little things. You will be happier. I promise :)
Rosa!! The cutest little lady ever. She is like a little kid. So willing to learn about the Gospel and excited about it too!!! She even came to church by herself. She came to testimony meeting and she said afterwards she was asking herself is this Church really true?? The only way she and anyone else can find out is by reading the Book of Mormon and praying about it. Read it. Love it. Live it. Treasure it. It has all of the answers you need. I just finished it 30 minutes before 2014 and it was a wonderful experience. I just felt a reassurance that what I teach daily is the truth!!!!!!!
We had an awesome lesson with this family on the Priesthood. I was able to testify of how truly the power of God is in the Church and how my Dad can give me a blessing with the power of God when I need it. I am so blessed to have a worthy father who can give me Priesthood blessings at any time. The Priesthood really is the power of God and brings to pass miracles.
A family we are teaching had their son die :( It was super sad but it was amazing the peace we were able to bring into their home (aka the Spirit). They felt like they would never see him again and we were able to testify of the Plan of Salvation and how death is not the end because of our Beloved Savior, Jesus Christ. They will see their son again !  :)

Random: I made carmel popcorn. Guatemaltecos love it!!!!! :)
I was super sick on January 1st!! Way to start the new year right!! woohoo.
I love being a missionary and helping other come unto to their Savior and His teachings. He lives and He loves us. Read the Book of Mormon daily and you will feel that love even greater.

I love you alll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dec. 31st Happy New Year's from Guatemala

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Where did the time go!!
Oh and happy birthday to the best big sister in the world!!! I love you Vanessa aka …..Vernie.

This week was so interesting.
So Christmas here is celebrated on Christmas Eve. So the missionaries had a gift exchange in my zone and the elders killed a pig for us to eat. Yes… they killed it and I am not gonna lie it was delicious !

THEN I GOT TO SKYPE MY FANTASTIC FAMILY. Yes I cried and yes it was amazing. I love my family sooooooooooooooooo stinking much. That is really what the Gospel is all about. Family!!!!!!!  Families that can be eternal but only through the wonderful plan our Heavenly Father has made for each and every one of us.

So we saw miracles this week. We are working with the husband of the Relief Society President. He has been taught by so many missionaries. TONS. We fasted with her and her kids that his heart would be softened. He came to the Noche de Hermanamiento and..... TO CHURCH. It was incredible. Truly a miracle and I know it is because we fasted and prayed together for this miracle!!!!!

We had a Christmas devotional..... so much fun!!! I was in a Mexican dance. For those of you who don’t know.... I can’t dance at all and I did it.... with my best effort. The office did a Backstreet Boys remix to Sons of Provo and I thought I was going to die laughing.  It was seriously so nice to be with 3 other zones and enjoy the Holidays!!!!

I am so grateful to be a missionary. It is hard work but it is worth it ! Like they say here vale la pena. I am truly becoming more like my Savior and I get to help others do the same!!!

Dec 23rd FELIZ NAVIDAD

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
¡FELIZ NAVIDAD, FELIZ NAVIDAD, FELIZ NAVIDAD, PROSPERO AÑO Y FELICIDAD!!!!!!!

I wanna wish you all a very merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart! :)
Ya es Navidad. Me encanta la Navidad aquì en Guatemala :)
This week was an interesting one. My comp had lots of meetings so the work kind of got thrown off but we met some awesome people.

So Hna. Valesca, the lady who went to Church with us, told us she knows the Church is true. When we left, she said she slept so peacefully and that she will come to church every Sunday when she can. It was incredible.

Melvin. He is probably one of the smartest people ever and he actually reads from the Book of Mormon and finds similar scriptures in the Bible. He comes to every lesson with a huge list of scriptures for us to look up. He came to church too and invited 2 people to our bonfire activity and they came!!! Talk about a missionary right there.

Juancito. The cutest little boy ever. He doesn’t really have his parents at home during the day to play with him or spend time with him. He just needs love and he has found it at church. After Church on Sunday he was like so next Sunday i can come again right?? So adorable. Then he came to the choir presentation too. He was like can you visit me during the week too?? If only everyone had the faith of little children.

So we had a bonfire.... in 85 degree weather. I was dying. It was so hot but the Spirit was definitely there. We had an awesome lesson about the Savior and His Atonement. It was then I realized the true meaning of Christmas was what I am living. Focusing on the Savior. He has done everything for us. He is the peace and light in our lives.

Like the Song says
Silent Night, Holy Night,
All is calm, all is bright,

Remember He is the reason we celebrate. He is the reason for peace and joy.
Merry Christmas!!!!
I love you all and I love the Lord.
