September 2nd, 2014 "We just got to let our faith overcome our trials. "

This week has had its trials and triumphs.

My comp and I are like night and day. It has been interesting to work together and forget our differences. I had a couple of breakdowns this week but it was good because we were able to talk and understand each other. I really do love Hna. Valenzuela. We have different cultures, ideas, languages but I have come to learn that we both love the Lord. She has taught me how to be a true friend to everyone and just help people to trust in me. I really know the Lord has put us together for a reason. She is everything I am not and vice versa. We kind of complete each other. The work has gone a little bit slower lately and I have felt bad because I don’t feel like I am doing all that I can. But I found a scripture that really helped me out! Mosiah 2:21 to 22

21.  I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is     preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another—I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants.

 22.   And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you.

We will never be able to do all that we can because we are not perfect but the Lord just expects us to be obedient and do what He has asked of me!!! Obedience is the key!!! :)

Andres got baptized!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is already talking about becoming Elder Valladres!!!! So happy!!!!!

We had an activity in the church and watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I never realized how many life lessons are in that movie. We talked about how we need to stop and smell the roses. So many times we look for the golden ticket in our lives and don’t realize all the blessings we already have!!!! We had 13 investigators there.... and we didn’t invite a single one.... blessings!!!!

Mariano!!! He is so pilas. He reads the book of Mormon everyday and even laminated the copy we bought him ( a large print one, he can’t see small letters!!!). He wants to get baptized but his wife doesn’t want to get married. It makes me so sad to see the things that impede( is that a word??) people from getting baptized. We just got to let our faith overcome our trials. As Pres. Monson says our future is as bright as our faith!!!!

I love you all so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

August 25th, 2014 "I love my savior and I love preaching His gospel. "

Well!!! This week has been a bit strange and difficult but really good for me!!!!Andres finally came to church!!! He is so awesome. His testimony amazes me and he is so excited to get baptized and is already talking about a mission!!! We were headed to an appt. and I felt like we needed to go see him. He doesn’t like when we go to his house and it was pouring rain. My comp was like Hermana he won’t be there!! But you can’t ignore the Spirit. So we went. When it rains here like no one is outside and he was outside sitting there alone. It was perfect and then a member let us teach him in their house. It was just perfect and the spirit was so strong as we testified how he could see his mom again. I love the Spirit. It has guided me so much here in Guatemala and I have come to recognize better on the mission!!!

Oh and this member gave us mini pilas... it is what we wash our clothes in!!! I love it so much!!!!!
Gieovanna got baptized!!!! For her baptismal interview she told our dl how she wants to go on a mission and in her prayers she prays that people will open doors to us!! How precious. I was asking her why she goes to church and she went off about the sacrament and how we need to remember Christ.... she is only 8. Wow. It is like the Savior said. Children are so close to heaven. I love the kids here so much!!!!

We had a Hermana conference with the whole mission yesterday and today!!! It was so fun to see all my old comps and the girls who came in my MTC group!!! I love them so much. We talked about being consecrated to the Lord and I realized something. The mission is a model for life. Everything I learn and do here is setting me up to be a better mom, a better wife, a better daughter of God. As we consecrate our life to Him, we become more like Him. I am not perfect but any means but I want to give my all in these next 3.5 months (I cannot believe how fast the time is going!!!!!)

This Church is true. The Savior lives. I really know this is His work. I am so grateful to be serving Him here in Guatemala. I know I am not perfect but he (Christ) has set a perfect example for each and everyone us. The Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God and as we read them and apply the teachings of our savior we will become more like Him. I love my savior and I love preaching His gospel.

I love you all so much"!!!!!

August 18th, 2014 God gave us the ability to choose for a reason and we have to respect that!

Well family!!! This week was so weird.

Here in Guatemala when a missionary comes home, everyone in the ward comes and they release the missionary in front of everyone. As they were releasing this missionary, I just feel so sick in my stomach. How could I ever leave this place?? How can I not be Hna. Webster? Or Western Union as they say it here... with a very strong Spanish accent. I seriously feel like the mission has been the hardest yet most satisfying thing ever,

I got to go on divisions with Hna. Pister aka my MTC comp... So much fun!! It was ridiculously fun and we bought some bread and hot chocolate. I loved being able to catch up with her,

We had a multi zone conference and they talked about the Sabbath Day a lot. Presidente Ruiz said something I loved. Money we earn on the Sabbath day will never be able to makeup for the blessings we could receive by keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. It is so true!!

So we had an awesome lesson with this family we are teaching and the Spirit was so strong. They understood the Priesthood and how the same Church Christ established is here on Earth today. At the end, the Hermano asked how exactly he can see his mother again after this life. I feel so blessed to have this knowledge and to be able to explain how this can be!! The Lords plan truly is ´perfect!!!! They didn’t end up going to church but I have come to realize that as long as we teach with the Spirit and are willing to support them, that is all we can do. We are not here to force people as missionaries. We are here to invite. God gave us the ability to choose for a reason and we have to respect that!! So don’t be scared to share the Gospel!! Do your part. Open your mouth and you will see miracles!!!!

I love you guys so much!!!!! Thanks for all of your support and letters!!!

August 11th, 2014 Transferred to La Union

So I am here en La Union with my new companion... Hna. Valenzuela from the Dominican Republic. What what!! And it is her last change in the mission. So crazy!!

But before changes... I got to go back to San Felipe for like 3 hours!!! It was incredible. We were on splits and there was a strike and these cars blocked all roads leaving Reu so Hna. Terry and I were running around like crazy trying to find a truck going to San Felipe. It was hilarious. I wish I could explain it well with words but you just can’t. I got to see some people from my old area and it felt so weird to be back where I started my mission. I love that place so much!!!!!

Oh and Hno. Rudy accepted to be baptized this Saturday!!!!!! I met him my first Saturday here and they would laugh a lot and not take it very seriously and now I can see a difference. They love to joke still but they are excited to learn more and I am excited to help him and his wife get ready to go to the temple in a year!!! I WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK FOR THAT!!!

On Monday, Aylin taught a lesson to us!! It was incredible and the spirit was so strong and then Josselyn just kept talking about how much she loves the temple. I love that girl so much!! She is a miracle!!! Seriously.

So Josselyn gave us a reference, Andres. We gave him a Book of Mormon on Tuesday and he has already read 100 pages.... what!! He loves it and has no doubt that it is all true and has accepted to be baptized on the 30th.... incredible. The Lord truly prepares these people.

My new companion.... I love her. She is so sassy and direct and is everyone’s friend. She has taught me so much in these past few days. She is helping me to relax and just enjoy the mission. I am so glad the Lord knows my heart and what I need.

In the changes meeting, a dad of an elder came and said, in spite of your weaknesses and faults, you represent the best of this world.
That really hit me and it is true!! We are not perfect but Christ is. I am so grateful for His perfect example!!!
I love you all !

August 4th , 2014 "I LOVE THE TEMPLE"

This week started out amazing........ I WENT TO THE TEMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I LOVE THE TEMPLE.  I haven’t been since October!!! I used to go all the time in Provo and it has killed to not go for so long but it was perfect!! We met a lady there who served her mission 25 years ago in Mazate!!!! It was incredible. I just felt so much love from my Savior and so much peace for the work I am doing. I got to go on the same day my sister was returning home from the Philippines and I just felt so calm and at peace. The temple seriously is amazing. I wish I could explain all these thing in words but I really can’t. I am so excited to go back!!!!

After going to the temple, we went and visited with our recent convert Josselyn. This girl’s testimony is amazing. She was like I have felt such a difference in my life when i started listening to the Hermana’s. This church is true. I have never felt like this in any other place. Her parents have not really supported her in all of this and told her she couldn’t go to church on Sunday so she put on her jeans and said she was going to do an errand and ran to church in her heels. She texted her mom after and told her she went to church but i am just so amazed by her great faith!!! And she is inviting her friends to church!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love her sooooooooooooo much. She has shown me what this Gospel can do in our lives.

So la familia herrea yac made us these delicious panes with steak and avocado and salsa and beans and garlic bread. I thought i was gonna die. It was so delicious. He is praying about being baptized this Saturday!!! They have been having some really hard times but I know that the Lord is trying their faith. I really love this family and it has been amazing to see the changes in their lives.

Well this Saturday was rough.... everyone who said they would come to church cancelled and our baptismal date, marleni moved overnight like 1 hour away. ( we have been working so hard and i just felts discouraged. then this little girl was making fun of my Spanish and i lost it. i kept thinking why me but then i realized if there isn’t a trial, do we really treasure it all?? I just realized i need to trust in Him. His power never ends. Trust Him and you will never be let down. Promise.

Well I love you all!!!Oh last but not least... remember Carolina, the chiplady, her kids were baptized ad her husband stopped drinking!!! yeah!!!
I love my life,
Hermana Webster

July 28th, 2014 Well I am just getting blessed here in Mazate!!

Well we had Family Home Evenings (F.H.E.)  on Monday!! So awesome. We played Don’t Eat Pete!!!! They loved it but we did it in Spanish and we said “NO COMAS CARLITOS.”   :)
So I just feel so loved by our investigators!!! They have been preparing food for us for our citas. I love it and so does my tummy!!! Josselyn is doing so great!!! She invited us to her house for F.H.E. with her sisters. her 2 sisters. I feel like it is me and Vernie and Boo (AKA Vanessa and Courtney) . I love it!! We played scattergories and then shared the message of the Restoration with them!! They were hooked!! When we came back on Sunday they were like I prayed to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet and I was like so how did you feel? They replied, Happy. I woke up and felt so happy. I know he was a prophet of God. I LOVE THESE HERMANAS. and Josselyn was just testifyin away!!! I love this girl!!!!

We visited with an Hermano who is going on his mission in a month!! His family is less active and I was like what motivated you to go on a mission. He was just like Hermana,  God has given me so much. Giving Him my time is the only way I see that I can repay Him. That really hit me and it is so true!! When we give our time, we give our heart, might, mind and strength.

Shout out to the best older sister.... Vanessa “Vernie” Webster!!! Coming home in 4 days.... what!!! I am so proud of you and your example. I am really gonna miss having you serving beside me but I know that you have given the Lord this time and that your work in the Philippines has been fulfilled. I love you sooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We played basketball with the elders today. The other Hermana’s went shopping... if you know me... it isn't my thing. But basketball was so much fun!!! I love sports now,  like more than before. :)

Well I am just getting blessed here in Mazate!! I love it here and I am gonna work with all my heart, might mind and strength!!!!

Remember that if you are lacking blessings you should probably ask yourself if you are keeping ALL of the commandments of God. Then you’ll find your answer.
Love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
